I found the website but $120 is way out of my price range. Would the e6 be my only other option for an amp that small? Would it even be worth it for what I assume is a small improvement in sq? How well does it work with the ultrasone hfi-580?

Soundmagic A10 is also very small and costs $60 on Amazon. I'm not sure whether I'd recommend it though.

The main thing I am looking for is a bass boost setting that doesn't completely destroy sound quality like the ipod touch eq. Is there a way to do this without an amp? I know about equ, but its lack of multitasking support really killed its practicality for me..

The best sounding amp under $75 for me is easy, the JDS labs bass boost cmoy.  A very decent amp that give you good bass and can be upgraded via rolling the opamp.  I have owned or heard the lower end Fiios and one of their $100 amps and for me this one competes with thenm and higher priced amps.  And it is made really well and in the US.  Their is a reason this amp design has been around so long and has been tweaked to get very good sound for a somewhat low cost.  Good luck with whatever you choose.
