Fiio E7/E9 combo as pre-amp to Hifiman EF5? - Page 2

Alright guys nice thread!! i have the e9+e7 combo and i am also planning to get the ef5. I just bought my shure 1440 and i am wondering does anyone have any experience with the whole e9+e7+ef5 -> srh1440?? This whole thing sounds like a sick crazy setup. I am pretty excited.

Any more opinions how the combo went? 

Had the E17/E9 with my EF-5. However i sold the E17 and E9 cause the upgrade itch kicked in so i picked up a Bifrost. Initially i was extremely unimpressed but after burn-in i found the Bifrost to be a significant upgrade over the E17 as a DAC. 

Not a bad upgrade considering i was able to sell the E17/E9 combo for $200 while the Bifrost cost me $400 (with USB)

hmmm cause i have the e7, i am sort of planning to keep it, but i also want a tube amp n i thought of what you guys were thinking did you think the ef 5 made an impressive upgrade with the e17+e9 combo? Because from what i heard is the combo for the e17+e9 doesn:t have a big difference since the e9 is almost the same in the audio department the different was the addition input n output etc.. I was thinking about the schiit lyr do you think that i would be able to connect all 3 of them together schiit lyr +e9+e7?? I am pretty much looking for a tube amp, hybrid or not, i wanna get into it and try them out.

sickkkk sounds great, i was wondering is the cables the normal rca cables or am i getting things mix up with the line out cables? yeah i was thinking of selling my e7 n getting the e17 haha. I also thought of the bottleneck but from what i heard they are used to power higher ohms cans the owns i own are pretty low impedence. Pretty much this crazy setup is for my shure 1440, and myabe later on the denons ah 5000.  So i wasnt sure about the bottleneck but i got my eyes caught on that one. What do you suggest?
