One merit of the ES5's I'm noticing is that that they're more forgiving. I've found a couple of tracks that are fatiguing with the 334's which weren't on the Westone's. The 334's are pretty magical with the right tracks, though.
As someone pointed out earlier, they use the same subwoofer, and the bass does sound pretty much the same to my ears, but the 334's make the mids and highs more prominent. I consistently feel as though vocals are in front of everything else, but their level of detail retrieval prevents that from being intrusive, if you get what I mean. As far as I can tell, the 334's don't add any sibilance, but will make you hear it more than the ES5's if it's in the track.
Yep... they straddle the line between accurate and fun really well. I've been waiting for the TO GO! 333 and was slightly disappointed to see that this was a 111; chances are the 111 will be an uber-comfortable ER4...
Better than the newly released 334s?
There's been a lot of positive reviews of the 334s. I can only assume it is an upgrade from the 333s.
Has anyone compared the two yet?
