Although this post should really go in the portable source section, I was wondering what DAP you guys would recommend for the 334.

My requirements would be that it has to have a

good UI (maybe not iOs quality...but hopefully nothing abysmal)

good touch sensitivity (I prefer touch screens over a track pad type)

Relatively portable (I like em slim, not a huge brick setup).

For the reasons above, I've just been using an iPhone as my DAP. But a dedicated music player could be nicer and free up the space on my phone.

*ability to function as a usb DAC/Amp for a laptop would be nice as well...but that's just extra

This question is going to get slammed with answers. I use the AK120 instead of what I use to have which was iPod>HP_P1>RSA Hornet.

IMO, the AK if not as good or better, than we are talking a few percent either way.

Many like the new SONY ZX-1 from what I have read. It apparently adds some clean bass and treble to the 334.

I will second that. I have not tried the ZX1 with the 334, but it works very well with thr 335, so 334 should not be far off.

Did you demo with 335 or did you buy one? :).

Hmm, quite a few do like the ZX1... I'll definitely look more into that...

I'll get to hear the ZX1 myself in the comin days. Cn11 and I were tryin to figure out whether there was any audible difference between it and the F886, what with the more dedicated components and whatnot

I demoed it...a lot. Really like it even if it's more colored than a Brazilian during Carnaval.

Last reply I got from you in another thread, you didn't own a Fitear yet. So fast.

You liked it over the 435?

It's kinda outta stock everywhere unfortunately - even in Japan. I'm wondering if it's intentionally being made into a "pre-order" product only. Alternatively if you scour around, you may find a 2nd hand one lying around somewhere. BTW, the official US distributor/rep is ALO for FitEar. Drop Ken Ball a message to ask if he has any.

There's actually a second hand 334 on the forums right now. So that's a possibility if you don't mind used.
