Errr...I kinda am still. 334 was bought on impulse today. Received the 335 yesterday. Have the RDB+ v2 and the v1 should be on it's way soon. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I've been somewhat fickle-minded recently.

Dude, that looks awesome!! A big congrats again. I noticed that you're using foam tips (presumably Complys). How do you find them compared to stock tips? Personally for me, I found the Complys seem to absorb a little bit of the highs. I've, personally, been comfortable with the stock FitEar tips but may try the Ortofons too since they're highly recommended here.

I guess you like to count like this Sean, 334, 335....

That there was a second 334 and no 1+2 further elaborates your great review. ksc75smile.gif

I'm keeping an open mind as much as possible but something keeps pulling me back to the 334 still. I'm gonna be honest here (and this is the part where Gavin's gonna say, "here we go again :D") but the 1+2 is still not out of my mind yet. When I entitled my impressions as a Love/Hate relationship, it truly is a Love/Hate relationship!! The technicalities of the 1Plus2 is still unsurpassed to be honest.

I'm likely to go with the 1+2. Gavin hasn't gotten back to me yet on stock availability yet though!

I really think you should give the 1plus2 another go because I really do not hear the apparent lack of cohesiveness of the sound. I do hear great technicality though. My only qualm is that silicon tips with large bores do not fit as snuggly in my ears as the one with small holes.
I am curious, how do the 334 fit in the picture when you have the 335. Aren t they similar but better ?

I've tested the stock tips and comply, I always like the isolation which comply provide. My personal experience is, when people complaining the complys muffle the sound is because when you have proper seal and better isolation, you get more bass, which in turns give you a impression that there are less high. But in the case of this TG334, I found I enjoy the music more with the isolation complys provide and it feel more comfortable for me.

Of course everyone's ear is different.

I may also go and buy some Ortofon tips to try, but I'm completely happy with the complys.

lmao been there before :). I've come to realize that having more than one flavor to keep you satiated and not bored is quite helpful in this regard. I've come to appreciate my IEMs even more after figuring that out.

Only if I could feel the same way towards IE80.

Why haven't you sold it if you consider it that bad? :). I sold mine long ago as it just wasn't up to snuff with my higher end gear.

I still have my IE8 and can't find much of a use for it anymore. I also still have the portable setup that I spent the most time with at work over the last decade (the Dell Axim X51V and Shure E5). They don't sound nearly as good together NOW as they use too.

I was looking thru the headphones-for-sale section of this forum to see if people were selling the 334. I'm not in the market for a used $1350 earphone. I just wanted to see if others were giving up on it and why. I also want to see if a used 334 will sell (you know, just in case).

One person selling their 334 wrote that they scored a Heir 5.0 and felt more comfortable with that size investment. There's a lot of ways to read into that but I wonder about that comparison. And on a side note, I also wonder why anyone would take a chance on a $1300 used item (with shorter warranty) when they could get a new one for $1350 (guaranteed not to be refurbished by the vendor because they don't accept returns).

Anyway, in a way it's good to see the most expense universal IEMs (aside from that Final Audio extravagance) being up to preference and second thought. The bad thing is I love bass. I want to hear (and possibly own) the UIEM people think has the most magnificent bass they've ever heard. The only problem is I also love midrange and want to possibly own the best UIEM in that category as well.

The 334 is probably good enough in the bass category to go with it due to midrange. However, I also love good soundstaging which seems to favor the Tralucent 1+2. But hey, I got time. I might just try the underclassmen (5.0 and ASG-2) first. Maybe I'll fall in love with one of them. Then one day down the line,  I'll buy one of the top-tier IEMs and then wonder what I ever saw in those mid-tier IEMs.wink_face.gif

I like to keep mine rofl.

I too am interested in 5.0 and ASG-2. Maybe later, I like the fact I haven't bought any IEMs for a while, if you know what I mean, (Not to mention short on money haha)

I'm not sure what my possibly liking the Heir 5.0 or ASG-2 has to do with long-shot odds, but okay.....

Due to the time I've spent on this forum,  I have been influenced into purchasing the Headstage Arrow 4G, the FiiO E11, and the Sansa Clip+. That's it.  That's the list (so far).

My comment was referencing your potential upcoming love affair...

My thinking is simple: There's no such thing as a final / forever love in our addiction hobby...wink.gif

I don't disagree which is why I said that later I would upgrade and wonder what I ever saw in the mid-tier. I was joking in a cynical way.

Nothing about the word "love" is final anyway. If it were,  half of all marriages wouldn't end in divorce.

I just want to enjoy the ride as I have in the past.

The journey only lasts as long as the time it takes to get there. Take your time smily_headphones1.gif
