From what I see from the picture of new 334, it still be a seamless since they put the lacquer over the seam but didn't put it on the top of faceplate.

Meanwhile, how about at Titanium TG!334 :P?? (Shamelessly taken from Suyama-san's site - I'll share these pix on Head-Fi's Facebook group page, therefore credits of Suyama-san's pix back to him).

I just had Makoto-san (Fujiya) say that it's fake news announcement. I'm not certain what that means yet since it's Suyama-san's album. Maybe it's a copy of his product which he's shared on his page? I'll try to see what it means.

Yeah, but it didn't just crack by itself, maybe he was listening with his shoe.lol

He never did answer how it "just cracked" into pieces no less..rolleyes.gif

My apologies, I misread your post in the first place. I thought you meant that the original 334 had no seams for cracking and my quote was to illustrate there were seams (despite how zowki cracked it).

I've read Suyama's super long post on Facebook; here's some important points, hopefully I translated it correctly (correct me if I'm wrong!) :

1. The connector pin's plating is tweaked a little, due to concerns about durability of the current plating. He said there's been reported cases of the pin rusting or the plating came off due to moisture and/or sweat. Apparently FitEar have tried to overcome this particular problem in the past by doing un-announced update twice.

2. As for the connector socket part, there will be a new system involving the use of mini coil spring. The new system is supposed to lessen the strain on the connector pin. He tried to explain how this coil spring system works, but I don't get it fully; as far as I can tell the mini coil spring will securely wrap the pin inside the socket to secure it in place.

3. The titanium tube part of TG!334's stem is unchanged and will still be manufactured by FitEar. However the acrylic part for lows and mids and the outside part of the stem will be changed to polycarbonate due to durability concerns, as acrylic is relatively weak to sudden impacts. Apparently there was reported cases of the stem part cracking due to accidental dropping. SQ is unaffected at all.

4. Change of the faceplate has something to do with lacquering process when putting faceplate/socket part with the rest of IEM shell together. This lacquering process is done to smoothen the "line" between the faceplate and the shell, but he seems to be bothered by the fact that the lacquering process results in uneven waviness and micro air bubble. I guess the new matte material doesn't require this smoothing up process.

5. So production of TG!334 and F111 is stopped for now. He'll keep updating us about the changes via website and blog and whatnots.

These are all changes for the better. We may bemoan the lack of lacquering on the faceplate, but I'd rather have a slightly less attractive faceplate than have aesthetic issues crop up over time. These are problems that I've seen happen, such as the uneven waviness and micro air bubbles, and the strain of the connector. They're minor concerns for most manufacturers, but this is the kind of obsessive attention to detail that attracted me to the brand in the first place.

I agree; the lacquered surface of my F111 was smooth but recently it has uneven bumps and creases developing on its own; I've been handling my F111 delicately and it still happens.

Their durability concerns about connector and stem are legit too; shows that they care to impove on their already impressive build quality. Suyama's building these IEMs for the long run, folks.

It's still possible to get an older-style TG 334 if a supplier has some stock hidden away in a back room, though I imagine a rarity now since most places are sold out.

I placed an order for the F111 back in November, and I'm still waiting for mine lol. Dimitri told me "mid February." Not sure if these new changes also apply to the F111 as well. Kinda hoping not?

Edit: Just read production has halted on the F111 too. Here's hoping Dimitri found some older stock...

Wasn't there a picture of J-A-B-E-N's stash of TG!334 somewhere? I'm really regretting selling mine now and possibly regretting even more not buying it back when the buyer decided to sell only after 1-2 weeks.

Just gonna wait patiently for my ear impressions this Sat for the 335 and try to forget the 334.

Anyone have an idea of the changes that might take place to the shells of their CIEMs, and when this is going into effect for CIEM orders?
