Funny question. But yes, the short answer is like what lee730 stated --- there's no comparison. I've always found the Shure 535, regular or LTD-J, to sap resolution. It also doesn't have a very black background. The 334 is the opposite in that it has perhaps the blackest background (what I take as a clean impulse response and smooth frequency response) of any IEM I've heard. The LTD-J is actually peakier than the regular 535 because it has a stronger high pass filter, and a different damper value, so while it has more present highs, it isn't nearly as smooth. It's hard to get into more depth than this. I like the LTD-J, but it doesn't compete on the same level as the 334.

What about the its performance on faster-paced music? The LTDs sound bland and not as involving (perhaps too "slow" for the music, excuse my poor terminology) for some genres so I'm considering the 334s (heard they are a great all-rounder).

I finally got my togo!!!

It's painful to admit but, musically, they sounds better than my beloved JH13 and ES5

I would go into details in the future but for now all I want to say is, they wowed me.

One question though. Why's this IEM so sensitive. I got background noise even directly out of an ipod !!! WTF, I've never experienced that before. Do you guys have this annoying hiss out of ipod?

I'd like to know how. I used to pine for months about JH13's and ES5's, trying to convince myself to buy a pair of either. Never did, mainly due to the price and the fact that customs will probably require re-molding down the track and I'm young enough to make that remolding necessary at an earlier date to make the investment worth it.

I personally love my pair. Not due to the cable or the tips, both annoy me even though I've seen worse. The sound is excellent, especially in the mid-bass and bass department. Really missed out on those two with my Westone 4's.

Well I still have it. I wanted to ... but couldn't let it go as it sounded so good each time I plug that into my ear. It does everything so well despite the lack of air. On some late nights, I just melt on my couch from the thick mellow lush detail full sound... big tall sound is what I would say. I am hunting for an amp to bring it to another level and Centrance new M-8 is on my list. I like centrance house sound to go with fitear 334 (1 ohm dacport) and hopefully the new M8 will be as airy and as a backup, they even have treble tone shaping knob to my delight.

Yes the TG334 hiss on everything I put on except the 1ohm dacport. It hiss on ipod 7th gen, iphone 4 and 4s, Samsung S3 and dacport (10ohm). The worst hit was Rx3. I gotta spent another $100 to mod the dacport and now it wont hiss... very black.

Its a really sensitive phone.

Yeah it's quite condensed/thick. Guess it depends on taste. I actually kinda like that about them.

TG334 is absolutely black with the Classic > Stepdance combination. If I were getting these, I would be all over the Meier Quickstep. Sensitive IEMs love the active balanced ground.

Have the Quickstep solved the high gain problem with sensitive iem?
