I'll go on record saying the IE800 has the best midrange of any universal I've ever heard, including the TG 334. The TG 334 is darker sounding compared to both the IE800 and Flat4. It has a slight bass emphasis, less in terms of sheer quantity compared to the other two, however the bass is a bit on the slow side which might bother some people.

 

The Tralucent 1Plus2 is a universal with an amorphous shell like the TG 334. I don't have any experience with it, but hopefully I'll have a set in the coming months as they sound very promising. I recommend AnakChan's review, which does a good job covering what he feels to be pros and cons of them:

So do you prefer the ie800 than TG 334? for me the mid range is easily the best part of the 334.  I am very interested in getting the ie800 but have a hard time buying one let along trying one. thanks

I totally agree... It's been a growing trend I think, with Aurisonics, Tralucent, Fitear, Heir Audio, all doing the same thing. 

 

My one experience with customs soured me on the whole process, and I will never go that route again. I bought a $900 custom dynamic driver IEM and while it fits ok, things get pretty uncomfortable over a long listening session having something so fully jammed into your ear... no matter how form-fitting. And the first couple times I tried to put them in when I initially received them, the hard acrylic shells really hurt making the bend into my ears. I wound up not caring for their sound too much to make matters worse, and now since the molding process permanently bonds the dynamic drivers in place I'm stuck since the drivers are ruined if attempting to remove them for re-shelling for a different owner. Wish I'd have known that going in. 

 

But I'm thoroughly enjoying the Fitear TG!334s still, and I like knowing I always put them up for sale if I find something new I like better... but I kind of doubt that will happen.  biggrin.gif

That makes two of us, my love just grows by the time I spend with them. To my folk and rock heavy collection the 334s work so well when I shuffle...... ksc75smile.gif

I was in the same boat with you on my first purchase. I was really worried the second time around regarding the 8As and adjusted how I did my impresions that time. It paid off because I don't require a refit (I could live with it for the most part). So it has changed my mind on Customs vs my first time experience. I was even under the impression my ears may have been allergic to acrylic. It must have just been a very bad fit then...

I have ALOs and will get the BTGs in soon, I can do a comparison if you want... Or ask someone to, since my 334s aren't with me atm. Honestly the upgrade cable for me is the 000 but they're also a tad bit pricey smily_headphones1.gif

I only went with the ALOs because I could get it for significantly cheaper than the price from ALO.

I also went with them because I've heard more about the ALO cables than the BTGs and didn't really want to risk it...

Wanted silver too!

 

I do expect the BTGs to be extremely good though!
