There are some Chinese vacation coming in April and I am letting my wife chose between weekend in Japan (335) and weekend in Seoul (NT6 PRO) smily_headphones1.gif

lol it's a win, win either way you put it. I hear the NT6 and SE5 are some of the most detailed Custom IEMs available (if not the most detailed out there).

Nice, nice!

 

Yeah, I was undoing my scarf today, and the cable got "yanked" a bit. Sound still comes out, but it sounds like I am listening to terribly rendered instrumental track. I had to check with my 111 cable just to make sure my 334 wasn't dead.

 

Might pick up ALO's JH Audio cable as well for my Heirs. Hmmm...

I was trying to figure that out myself. I know you can do impressions at Jaben but I don't think they have the universals to test. Last I went, they let me a fitted 333 to test not a universal to test out.

I suggest you contact them months in advance, so they can prep it for just a week to build, which was what I did :)

So a few things :-

 

1) Yes of course getting the FitEar through Jaben, ALO, Analog Head, Musica Acoustics is going to be more expensive. As mentioned before FitEar is a local Japanese business catered for local customers.

2) I'm aware of at least Jaben and Analog Head accepting impressions to be sent to FitEar for CIEMs but I have no idea what kinds of fees they charge

3) [V0/mtthefirst to correct me if I'm wrong] The FitEar office in Ginza is where they do their impressions for CIEMs, but I don't believe they sell the TO GO! series there (but they don't have them in stock anyway even if they do)

4) The universal TO GO! series if purchased in Japan for local pricing, and if available, are sold officially at Fujiya, e-earphone (F111-AK100 version at least), and Rakuten online

5) As per V0, if you want to get CIEMs done locally for the local pricing, then budget at least a week and to add what V0 advised, have a local Japanese speaker with you

 

I don't think I can stress enough about the Japanese language part. Some staff to have basic English skills, Suyama-san himself, but again they're a local business so fair enough if they request communication be done in the local language.

Actually their office at Ginza is not office. It is audiologist clinic for hearing aid. They mainly sale hearing aid device but also accept CIEM order. They don't sell any UIEM model at their office. You probably have to get it through fujiya-avic or e-earphone store.

 

Japanese speaker is strictly required. They insist on my email that they need someone that can speak japanese.

Yep, that's what V0 told me too after his visit :D. Actually if I'm not mistaken only 2 years ago, there wasn't even any FitEar website. When I was searching for them I had to find his contact via a medical website.

 

Edit: on another related note about impressions :-

 

1) FitEar does accept impressions made by some authorised audiologists in Tokyo, but "not just anyone"

2) At Fujiya, you can submit your impressions there and they will be happy to broker the deal. Presumably E-earphone can do the same. Note the pricing between Fujiya and e-earphone is different. Fujiya is cheaper a tad.

 

Both these don't help foreigners however it provides flexibility locals in Japan or foreigners in Japan with local help.

I was just informed that Musica acoustics have the 1st batch of the new version 334 in stock, and here's a photo Dimitri sent to me.Seems the housing is still the same as the old version except for the faceplate part which has been changed to matte finish.

Dimitri is cruel, teasing us with pictures of Mone-chan. Actually I'm sure he'd love to be able to sell the Monet outside of Japan.

 

I really want a better picture of her on her bike with the "no" sign over it.
