In deed!! It dosen't look as good as the original version.

I have two more days to say good bye to my TG334 before it goes to someone else. I'll definitely miss it.

If anyone is r-e-a-l-l-y bothered by fingerprints (you must have super-micro visioneek.gif) then a little bit of 2000 grit buffing will solve ALL your fingerprint issues forever and ever.

Personally, I think gloss looks way more classy, expensive, quality, etc. than matte anything - cars, wheels, DAPs, etc. Plus, matte is also prone to scratches because it is matte and cannot be polished to remove scratches unlike gloss acrylics which can be.

Thank you AnakChan for the translation and pic.

I guess changing the connector is may be the correct decision from a manufacturing pov. Iirc, the ToGo's use different connectors to the rest of their ciem's which was weird to begin with. Also having what seems like a connector "module" probably speeds up the process of putting them together somewhat to keep up with demands.

As for the looks, i hope they'll dress it up some when they reach production stage but i'm not too bothered, though, as long as they sound awesome.

And gere's to hoping they'll be cheaper wink.gif

Suyama san just post a very long comment on facebook about the changes. From what I understand (google translate), not only the face plate but they also change in the way they manufacture the 334 as well. It look like they tweak the way they make the stem of 334 too. I hope that AnakChan ('s wife) can help us translate his comment for us.

Wait, so for those pre-ordered, they have to wait till the end of March? I preordered from Dimitri and he says he will have some in stock mid-Feb, not sure if it still holds.

I also pre-ordered it through e-earphone. I just got an email from them a few days ago. They told me that the shipment of TG334 have been pushed back from the end of Jan to the end of Mar, so I think that it might be the same for you as well.

That's really weird cause Dimitri just told me that they will have 5 in stack this month o.O

Ok will see if my wife can translate later.

I've read Suyama's super long post on Facebook; here's some important points, hopefully I translated it correctly (correct me if I'm wrong!) :

1. The connector pin's plating is tweaked a little, due to concerns about durability of the current plating. He said there's been reported cases of the pin rusting or the plating came off due to moisture and/or sweat. Apparently FitEar have tried to overcome this particular problem in the past by doing un-announced update twice.

2. As for the connector socket part, there will be a new system involving the use of mini coil spring. The new system is supposed to lessen the strain on the connector pin. He tried to explain how this coil spring system works, but I don't get it fully; as far as I can tell the mini coil spring will securely wrap the pin inside the socket to secure it in place.

3. The titanium tube part of TG!334's stem is unchanged and will still be manufactured by FitEar. However the acrylic part for lows and mids and the outside part of the stem will be changed to polycarbonate due to durability concerns, as acrylic is relatively weak to sudden impacts. Apparently there was reported cases of the stem part cracking due to accidental dropping. SQ is unaffected at all.

4. Change of the faceplate has something to do with lacquering process when putting faceplate/socket part with the rest of IEM shell together. This lacquering process is done to smoothen the "line" between the faceplate and the shell, but he seems to be bothered by the fact that the lacquering process results in uneven waviness and micro air bubble. I guess the new matte material doesn't require this smoothing up process.

5. So production of TG!334 and F111 is stopped for now. He'll keep updating us about the changes via website and blog and whatnots.

Sounds like the 'original' Black acrylic 334's and F111's will be unique with a one piece body = no seams.
