 I use the stock largest tips... i thought that there was more hughe soundstage and air especially on the highs.. there is a lot more space between each instruments..

 

i thought thaat the insertion must be halfway only and the deeper it goes the soundstage suffers (?) i read this somewhere in this thread also..

 

i use 000 cables btw..

 

 

might try the smallest later..

If you are using large tips then insertion shouldn't be too deep unless your ear canals are huge. If you do, soundstage will be squashed. It's all about fit.

I know.........hey I really dig my 334s and would not part with them. The Sony is good....real good. NOT 334 good, not even near it but the 334 is not 60 times better which is the cost difference.

 

Maybe 36.8 times better tongue.gif

Been using large complys and they've been good to me so far, much clearer for me than the stock tips, which began to hurt after an hour of use...

Yes, if there is poorly recorded material the 334 is going to let you know for sure. I have spend many hours re-ripping CDs and it has paid off big time.
I can hear the difference between MP3 and Lossless.  I went to using a DAC/AMP which I plug the 334s into and that is another giant leap in quality.
Even more important then lossless. Most MP3s that I have left sound much better now. Sometimes I have to double check what format the cut is recorded in as I don't remember re-ripping and it sounds so good (just did it as I am writing LOL). I am hearing notes and whole instruments in songs I never have before!

Now you'll have to go back to those 24/192 and 24/96 files once you have your resolving Triad and a good DAC to show the true potential of the music ;). Even on the DX100 since the update it is really easy for me to tell if it's high resolution or not. Still sounds really good regardless. But in general the well recorded vinyl rips have another dimension to the music.

Just received my new DX100 today.

It's a good match with the Fit Ear.

There is still a bit of hiss to my sensitive ears (but very low, lower than IPC).

 

Oh, btw, I also bought the new Leckerton audio amp, the 334 does not hiss at all with that amazing amp, it's BLACK. However, when you lower the volume, there is significant channel imbalance (left ear sounds much louder than right ear). Can somebody confirm that?
