I've noticed that threads I start, regardless of how good the earphone is, usually go dead sooner than later. Doh!

Thanks to another head-fier, I've been able to obtain a set of Ortofon tips for my tg334. These are the magic tips for me. No vacuum seal and no backing out of the ear; also super comfortable. Now I need to find a couple of pairs for backup.

I haven't written much about my tg334 but that's not a bad reflection on them. In fact, its quite the opposite. I've had zero hiss issues, transparency is off the charts and the mids are just simply fantastic. Frankly I've enjoyed them much more than anything else I've had the chance to hear. Period. For me, none of the other offerings have come close. So instead of writing about them, I've been content to just listen and enjoy. I'm sure at some point I'll get around to a proper review, perhaps when my AS-2 finally arrives.

I've wondered if this exact thing is to blame for the thread frequently going silent for spells! Please update if/when you find a good source for the Ortofon tips. I think I'd like to try a set as well.

May I ask how old your TG!334 is & what amp you're using that you don't hear any hiss?

P.S. for the rest of the folks, I've not received a reply from Suyama-san if there's been any difference between the original batch & new batch of TG!334's. Will continue to pursue.

I received my pair back in August. Gear is in my sig but the amp I use is the Leckerton UHA-6s. It has a pitch black background with all my IEMs.

Really glad you liked the tips as much as me. I'm having your feelings excatly both concerning the tips and the 334's. I can honestly say that I have not enjoyed music more in my life than i do just now. Lenghty sessions is so much more comfortable than with fullsize cans, and compared to my hd650's they make up for what they lack in "space" with FUN. Amazing to put my ipod to shuffle songs and just enjoy the 334's allround qualities. I simply find it difficult to turn my rig off.

Just a thought, maybe you guys could find a way to split a packet of Ortofon tips. They have a hefty price, but do come pakced in 5 pairs of the same size, S,M or L.

I noticed that we have the same setup: classic/clas/continental. Do you really get annoying hiss on that?

Mine is close to pitch black. It is possible to tell if the amp is turned on or off, but that's just so quiet a sound that it can't be called hiss. My 334's are from the ALO batch that was in stock after a pause on September 14th.

Yes but you'll only get one of each size with that. Ortofon US should have some in another 2 to 3 weeks, according to their response to my email. Not sure if their sets will be the same or if you'll be able to order 5 or one size, like with Musica Acoustics.

I'm curious to know if you tried UE tips? If you did how do the Ortofon's compare? I'm using these and am 98% happy. Sounds like you are 100% so maybe it's worth a try for me with the Ortofon's to get the other 2%. LOL  Compared to other tips you've used does the sizing run the same, S M L?

BTW what is the AS-2? :)

The UE tips are good, but the ortofon tips really tops them to my ears. They are softer, and they are smaller in their sizing, the UE tip looks quite alot bigger both being large. Didn't you order the ortofon tips as well sara?

Your link is not for stock UE tips. Those are aftermarket, so I don't really know how they compare to stock UE but the UE tips are pretty good. I have large in both brands. The UE is a little larger in diameter and a little shorter. The length of the Ortofons is just right for me, plus they're a little softer than the UEs.

The AS-2 is the new Aurisonics hybrid CIEM.
