now that you don't want Apple..what is your current choice that fits all those criteria, is in your price range, is easy to get and doesn't have deficiencies.

You should buy my Cowon s9 it gets pretty close to fitting all your criteria and it's less than half what you want to spend and still in great condition.

I have no idea. *facepalm*

 

But probably the HM601. It's a pretty good option. My other alternative was to just get a Clip+ and a Zo2 or order an Objective 2 amp because the DAC is pretty good already.
