$40 dac,guess where?

radioshack. cat-15-093. it is worth $40. maybe even twice that. of course that is not saying much. i just thought id point it out for someone that is completely broke or wants to know what a dac does. i know this does not apply to most of us here. i wouldn't say it is awful. perhaps someone even thinks it is good. i figured it was worth mention just because it exists. on the other hand if you need a tiny a/c powered dac regardless of sq......

that is probably similar or a little better for less money. the thing with the rs one is it is stocked at a national chain store. that is all that interested me about it. not so long ago a dac was for a very exclusive crowd. now it is for anyone. the actual use of the rs one is too hook up new home theater gear to old receivers. not great but those that buy it probably think it is just a "connector". i wonder how many they even sell. it is a new product theirs.
