Long time ago - they're pretty rare on the ground out here, it was a pair of the old RS non-i with button badge

and no surprises there - they were a sweet listen.

Keen to get a pair of the new RS1i's to replace my SR80i's as a portable soon though! They're lightweight enough

 to do the job.

My advice:

Buy the most expensive Grados you can comfortably afford without regard to bang for the buck. You will inevitably end up doing it anyway.

They pair pretty well with the cheap Little Dot tube amps as well just for fun.

I have like almost a dozen Grados and it's fun to pick apart the differences between each model. I even have multiples just so I can compare different mods and their effect on them.

I've had my RS1i for a week now,and so far i like them very much,i expected them to be a bit on the bright side right out of the box,but that wasn't the case at all,i find the bass goes lower than i would have tought, the mediums of course are very lush that's no surprise, and the highs, altough very extended are never harsh.

They only have a few hours on them,so i expect the sound will only get better when they're broken in,i use thes mostly for Blues and Jazz,or any small venue recording.
