udac-2 with AKG Q701

Hi everyone, I am thinking about picking up some new headphones, been looking at the AKG Q701.  I currently have a udac-2 for use with my laptop and was wondering if that will be good enough to power the q701s.  To be honest I really doubt that they can so I have also been researching some desktop amps so I can pick one up.  If anyone could give any recommendations for desktop amps to power Q701s that would be great!  My budget is probably around $200 max, would prefer closer to $100 but any suggestions are appreciated.  Thanks

It'll power it. It may not drive it to maximum potential with overhead, but it will likely do the job. I would suggest just trying out the headphone first with it and see what you think. And if you really feel like it's under-powered and you're not getting all the dynamics, then perhaps look into a stronger amplifier. For the $100 range the Fiio E9 stands out immediately, and is very capable of having more power than is needed to drive the Q701. If you had to push for more power and wanted a new DAC as well, then perhaps the NFB12.

I'd consider the O2 amp.. nuforce's amps tend to be rather sketchy in ways (distortion, clipping, output impedance). There are articles on the flaws of nuforce's products if you bother to check.
