Equalizer app is horrible!

I just purchased the Equalizer app for my iphone 4s after reading some positive things here. Well I have to say I am very disappointed with this. It's not the user interface, I'm ok with that. The thing has crashed about 6 times already and I've only been using it for about 45 minutes or so.

It usually crashes when the track ends and it's supposed to go on to the next. Other times it crashes when I'm trying to look through my music...I also don't have any other apps running. This is so ridiculous...I just threw $3 down the drain!

Sorry to hear about your troubles with Equalizer, I think there is a thread somewhere here where a guy is in touch with the dev and might be able to help you deal with it.

Otherwise, EQu is 10x better in every way. It still has small stability issues, but I find it works quite well the majority of the time.

Also, the BBE app, SonicMax Pro just went on sale for $2.99 in the App Store. It uses a different method to adjust your sound and I find it works well, but it has some issues as a regular player. It doesn't have "Queued Playback" so it does not remember the last played song, and there are some minor UI issues.

Have you tried a hard reset on your 4S? (hold down sleep and home button until apple logo appears),

or do you have many other apps also running in the background (hold down home button to check).

Got all the updates?

I have found equalizer to be stable myself.

Same - very stable on both iPhone4 and iPod4.

What does a hard reset do? I have tried powering off and on, but not what you described. Does it reset settings and things, because I don't want to do that.

I have checked apps running in the background though, and nothing else was. Also, yes I do have all the updates..

Hard reset = power off, for iPhone. If you mean you've hit the "power" button on the top of your iPhone, you've only just put it to sleep/standby mode.

I don't think a hard reset will reset settings...done it many times on my iPhone and it never looks like any settings have changed. What I *think* it does is clear cache, which just builds up the longer you leave a device running anyway.

I deleted it off my iphone it was draining the battery somehow.

I agree, this app is very unstable. I moved to Equ. Much better, but power hungry.
