Which headphones are on top of your '(to buy) list' atm?

Thread Starter

Making lists is one of my favorite hobbies.

At the moment I've got two lists concerning headphones I want to buy.

One list is for the headphones I want to buy this year.

The other list is for the headphones I probably want to buy later.

Although I own 28 different mid-fi to high-end headphones atm, I still want more... rolleyes.gif

Here are my TOP-2 for each list:

List 1 (hp I want to buy this year, 2012):

- Sennheiser HD700

- Audez'e LCD-2 Rev.2

List 2 (hp I want to buy later, after 2012):

- Stax SR-009 plus SRM-727 II

- beyerdynamic T1

So, which headphones are on your list(s) at the moment? I'm curious about it!

I love making lists too! Anyways, I am considering getting the HD 650 or HD 700 in the next 2-3 years or so, whichever one gives the best bang-for-the-buck.

Denon AHD2000's for $200 or Sennheiser HD 650 for $300

I only have one headphone I want to buy, whenever I get the chance (meaning I have money I don't have right now):

Stax SR-Lambda Normal bias, with stock drivers and in good functional condition. (The one I have is a modified set with rebuilt drivers.) I may consider a Lambda Signature too, but only if it has that delightful midrange of the original Lambda.

After that, I'm stopping right there before this place causes any more financial damage.

Some groovy Grados, maybe the SR-325i or RS-2i.

I think I'll stop now, or I may make a list 5, 6 or 7 headphones long!

I'm not in a big hurry, but I'm thinking about a Stax SR-507 and Ultrasone Edition 8.  I'm also considering picking up the Beyer DT-880, DT-990, A-T AD900, and Sony XB-700.  I could probably go the rest of the year without needing any of them though, as I enjoy my current setup.

I'm definitely more into IEMs than full-sized headphones right now, so I'd love to eventually acquire the following:

-Final Audio Design FI-BA-SS

-AKG K3003

-Heir 8.A

-Spiral Ear SE 5-Way Reference

-Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitor

As for full-sized headphones, I'd like to eventually get the Precide Ergo A.M.T.

Unique Melody Merlins

HD650+HD600, I want soon. Either a HD800, or LCD3, once I've had time to get bored of my current headphones (once upgraditis hits biggrin.gif).

HD800 or Unique Melody Miracle. If I ever get a job -_-

My list had the Ultrasone Pro 2900s and V-Moda Crossfade M80's on it but I just bought both of them so it's a bit empty at the moment (still waiting for them to arrive though, does that count? biggrin.gif).  I would love to hear the Ultrasone Edition 8 someday but I don't know that I'll ever be able to stomach the price (then again if you asked me a few months ago I would have said spending as much as I did on the two I just bought was insane).

To buy this year:

Beyer 880/600

Denon D2000

To buy at some point:

Stax 507 or Lambda

HE-500 or LCD 2v2

Grado RS-1

Beyer DT1350

HD800 some time in my life.
Tried it, addicted to it.

V-Moda M-100, just need them to come out. Also several different cheapo Superlux headphones.

Well, I'm kinda new at this, so I still wanna try out some brands.
So far I've only had a Beyer DT770, a DT 880 and a Sennheiser HD595 (which I sold, because I loved the Beyers waaay more).

Since I primarily use my DT770 on-the-go, my next pair of headphones will also be closed.

Probably one of these:

Audio Technica ATH-A900 / ATHESW9A

Denon AH-D2000

AKG K271 MKII / K272
