Ok I am looking for a dedicated box that can play and work like my computers Sound Blaster X-Fi Soundcard with the 24 bit crystalizer without the needed of a computer. Currently I have a Logitech z2300 speaker sitting in another room that I love to plug my iPod into and listen to. I do like the sound that is produced when I plug them into the computer but I am wondering if there is a small dedicated device that can do the same thing without the need of a computer. I can supply usb power if it needs it no problem but I do not want to hook it up to a computer. Would this work? http://us.store.creative.com/Creative-Sound-Blaster-XFi-Surround-5.1/M/B0044DEDCA.htm Any others?

I'll keep this very short. They are very smooth sounding. Treble toned down so not so good for rock but have a magic about them that makes them better than mark 2. I use them with a '89/'90...

Bought these on whim, for your basic train ride to work I don't mind. But its far from being the best I have own.

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...

I doubt that would work. You could read through its manual to make sure that doesn't allow crystalyzer on an input.
In any case, I think you are going about this the wrong way. Crystalyzer just provides the illusion of improved sound by boosting bass and treble with a curve extends more into low and high frequencies than standard tone controls.
If ipod and good sound were to be used in the same sentence, I think this is what you want:

Creative used to have the exact device you're talking about. It was called the Xmod. No idea if they are still making it, but it should be pretty easy to track one down on eBay.
It's a simple DAC/amp with the X-Fi Crystallizer feature built in. It can work as an external DAC for your computer or independently, as an AMP/DSP. Not a bad device if you like the X-Fi DSP.
