Finding good computer speakers under 200 dollars

Thread Starter

I was recently wanting to purchase some computer speakers, as to listen to music without having to use headphones, etc. I have a price range of less than 200 dollars, and I prefer Bass heavy music, so a nice large subwoofer would be nice too. I have been taking a look at the Logitech Z623, and I seem to like it. However, I want other people's thoughts.

Any Suggestions?

There are a ton of options, Yamaha for $100 are supposed to be really good, BIC, Pioneer.

Myself i picked up the $40 Dayton speakers and will be picking up the $40 Sony bookshelves soon to compare them, along with the Lepai $20 and $40 Amps to see who is the budget king biggrin.gif Without even getting into M-Audio and active speaks..

Also always heard good things about those Dayton Subs but looks like i won't have the chance to try one for some time, i'd definitely get at least the 10'' version though...

Easy descision imo, try and find a pair of M-Audio BX5As or a second hair/discounted pair of BX5D2s. Fantastic speakers for the price.

astrozombie has the logical approach.  Trying to buy speakers that deliver good bass for $200 is hard.  You can get bass quantity but it will not be that good.  Why not upgrade your headphone system, you'll get a lot more bang for your buck there?
