HE-400 vs HE-4

Hello guys

What are your opinions about Hifiman's HE-400 and  HE-4?

I am not a bass head. But I do listen to trance mainly. (Ironicly I like trance without punchy bass)
Would a E9/E7 combo be able to drive the HE-4?

At head direct there is 50 dollars difference in price. And I was wondering If I should consider the HE-4.
I really have been saving money for some time (I am a student) and now I am ready to maybe place the order.

Though I am getting an amp together with it. (Unfortunately I can not afford an EF-5 at the moment)

Maybe EF-2A is a good idea?

The E7/E9 will easily drive the HE-4. Also, I believe that the HE-4 is the updated HE-400 model and has a few technical improvements, but someone can chime in if I'm wrong.

The HE-4 is actually older tech. It has half the magnets of subsequent Hifiman Planars and is harder to drive. I'm not even sure if they're still being sold. The HE-400 is newer and easier to drive.

Thanks for sorting out my facts. I would definitely forget about the HE-4 and go straight to the HE-400. It should be very easy to amp.

Thank you guys so much

Now I am sure of what I want to buy.
I am going to get the HE-400 + E7/E9 combo.
Thanks again! :)
