Recommend me a less-airy alternative to PX100's.......

After listening to closed-back cans for years I finally took the plunge and got some Senn PX100-ii's for mainly home use and I am amazed at the difference. However, as much as I like the open sound I find them a bit too 'airy' and not engaging enough so I am looking for an alternative.

Ideally I am looking for something reasonably cheap (no more than £50), less airy, more engaging and with a larger soundstage. With this in mind can anyone recommend me anything?

How about these...

Beyerdynamic DTX710:  http://www.hifiheadphones.co.uk/beyerdynamic-dtx710-semiopen-headphones-32-8486-dtx-710-prodid-2140.html

Sennheiser HD 465: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-HD-465-HD465-Headphone/dp/B0007QN18A

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

I had the px100ii as my first open set also, i replaced it with a superlux668b which actually cost less (~$40-$50). I think the soundstage on the px-100ii is actually pretty large, I feel like it is so open that I cant hear anything ironically enough. The 668b is semi-open so you get a little more isolation - soundstage I think they are the same, I dont know I was running everything unamped when I had them.

I use naturespace to test soundstage, and I think I preferred the 668b because I had a fan running all the time (was in a tropical country without central air) that prevented me from really hearing the px100. SQ wise I think they are both good, but the px100ii just sat in my backpack after getting the superlux set.

Thanks for your reply.

I've heard good things about the Superlux 668B but the only thing that puts me off is their size - I have quite a small head and I don't want anything to large or heavy. I might check them out if I get really stuck.

The thing is I really like the px100-ii's but I just find them too open. Semi-open definitely seems like the way to go....

How about Philips SHL5500's:

They've got favourable reviews here on Head-fi from a few users....
