hello boys ;) What headphones under $150 can I get that are silent for my computer?

Hello, I have a reverse problem of sound, I work in a noisy office landscape and I need some fullsize headphones to block the noise from people talking and computers running around my desk.

 

A colleague has a pair of sennheiser hd200 which I think are good at blocking noise but those are not sold anymore, do you have any other under $150 ideas?

ATH-M50 isolate pretty well. I think they're in your price range.

Your best bet is to use a set of iems not a pair of full size headphones.

 

Iem's enter your ear canal and are the best form of passive noise reduction.They

 

Iem's work so effectively at blocking outside noise I use a cheap pair for earplugs when I play my drums....so they should work perfectly for your situation.

 

At this point we would say whats your budget.....what type of music do you listen to and work from there.

Well it has to be earphones because of office-political correctness and I cant use earplugs because of the first reason.

 

I listen mainly to psytrance!

Might want to look at some reviews of the KRK 8400 here at headfi.  This thread for example:  http://www.head-fi.org/t/570501/the-krk-kns-8400-you-can-have-it-all

 

They are about $130 shipped from Amazon.

Second the 8400s.  Excellent passive noise attenuation (up to 30 dB, according to the manufacturer).  And they also happen to sound great.

How about a pair of Brainwavz Hm5's, if a neutral sound is your thing, great soundstage for a closed can.
