Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread - Page 659

In case you wonder how comfortable TH900 are: I "accidently" left them on my head while switching some cables beneath the desk, and bumped my head against the wall. Looks like a big fat cat had a fight with the left ear cup. :( It's not THAT bad, but it sucks to have the lacquer scratched.

I wonder whether there's a polish that you could sort that out with. I scratched the plastic cups of a Creative Aurvana and managed to take it out with a substance called Displex. It went completely. Mind you, it's more risky with such an expensive headphone.

I treat my Fostex like Royalty because of those cups since it is really annoying to have something like that.

Yes, I guess so. Could be an expensive mistake.

If anything, you could always go lawton cups. Though I dunno how it will affect the sound.

It does suck but a scratch is just a scratch. It's not like you pulled the cup from its housing or something.

i'd be devastated if that happened to mine

Well, you can always order a new cup from Fostex.

I ordered spare earcups, headbands and screws already.

Or you can turn the accident into luck by doing the Lawton mods and have an improved version of your TH-900.
