Whilst that's generally true with OTL amps & low impedance headphones, the ZDSE is an exception to this case. The ZDSE has a ZOut of 3 ohms.

a u shaped frequency response in other words. don't think that the highs and bass are overpowering personally.

So I'm inferring the 900 should be OK to use with the ZD ?

Purely acoustic recordings sound amazing on these. Feels like these were custom made for Dead Can Dance Spiritchaser album where no synthetic materials were used for any of the instruments.

My best day was seeing the status go from pending to "out for delivery" smily_headphones1.gif

It's even better when you're at work and you check tracking and it says "delivered".

Nothing more satisfying than that very moment, cause you know it's on when you get home.

I've had my 900's for a little while now and love the clean detailed sound they deliver.

I've just picked up a Klutz Design headphone stand and recommend this stand as it does a good job of keeping the 900's cable in check.

I took a few shots I'd like to share here - hope you enjoy them - thanks smily_headphones1.gif

i've listened off and on for the last two days since receiving my pair. haven't had time to do any critical listening, though my initial impression vs. the D7000 is that the th900 is tighter, more refined, and with a slightly wider soundstage. those who call the th900's bass "boomy" certainly have not listened to the D7000, whose bass is more pronounced and "boomier" than the th900. the th900 have sharper treble and, at least to my ears, seem closer to the HD800 than the D7000.

more impressions to come when i have some time to spend a few hours listening...

Hm, so they are pretty different sounding? Oregonian thought they sounded quite similar.

Looking forward to your impressions/ the differences between the two, since I am interested in getting one.
