thanks for the suggestions though!

Its listed $1599, do you usually pay full price?

I bought mine when it was listed at $1599. I called and offer them $1300 cad. And they couldnt do lower than $1440.

You have to negotiate smily_headphones1.gif

http://www.ttvjaudio.com/dealoftheday.asp  $1349 Shipped.  I bought mine there and paid the guy with a check and he was very responsive.  Todd is his name.  Wonderful place to buy, not a big box store.  Deal is for today but he posts that same deal once in a while.  If you buy it there let him know I sent you.  Told him I would tell others about his deals.  I hope to buy the Hugo from him later down the line.  Got other things to buy right now.

Although thats an awesome price, once I have to pay taxes and out dollar exchange, it's another $338 more than the $1349... With out dollar being crappy right now, the deal would have to be under $1200 to make the deal worth it.

Thanks for the link though! I'm sure someone else in the US could take up that offer!

lol, Can't say I've ever called, I bought my senn 800's from them for $1199 about 8 months ago though. I had the senns sitting in my cart for a while, started the process to buy at the sale price of $1299 but had to leave for a bit, had an email saying if I completed the purchase, they would do it for $1199.... I'm trying that again  first!  lol

Your best bet is probably the For Sale forum on here. Lots of US owners willing to ship to Canada. If you're willing to take a bit of a risk on the value declaration, you can get them in scotch free. Sold to several Canadian buyers so far and haven't had any issues.

+1. I got them for $1175 last year, got them modded at Moon Audio and paid customs duty for the modded value only. Sometimes, one gets lucky.

Ya deal with them they are always willing to give you some sort of special price.

Worst place to buy in Toronto is headfone shop, guy won't even give a penny discount.

Anyone compare the TH900 with LCD3? Just curious about perceived strengths/weaknesses of each. Thanks.

I'm sorry.  I was only listening to the momentum for a few minutes.  I did like the sound, but was not focusing on the isolation at all.  I find the TH900 to isolate very well.  I have had 3 people come in my office today and start talking to me, and I could not hear a word they said.

Thanks for your response. I am going ahead with it along with the silver dragon mod.... just need to save up for a bit now =(.

By the way, is there an obvious difference in balance vs single ended?

People hear differently. To my ears there is a slightly more fuller, deeper sound.

I agree with Kothganesh. But my point of reference would be the Grado RS1i. I have only listened to the TH900 in balanced mode.
