I've got my TH900 receiving the Lawton damping treatment and having the cable shortened and a 1/4" plug being put on it (removing the XLR) by Lawton Audio.  Made a mistake I fear.  The damping took but a couple of days but he has to send the phones out to his "cable guy" to have the XLR removed/swap the 1/4" on and it's now been three weeks.  Guess I'm saying be aware of the timeline if you have cable work done by Mark L.

Thanks for the info. Did you notice any difference in SQ with the Q audio cable compared to stock?

I'm looking to get my TH900 hardwired with a Q audio French silk cable mainly for aesthetics and length. Not really expecting an improvement in SQ but want to make sure the sound doesn't change for the worst

No change at all, it was purely aesthetics, flexibility and length, as you are after.

Exactly what I was looking for as well.  And most importantly, my Q cable exhibits zero micro phonics.  Absolutely no sound from rubbing against my shirt, chair, etc.  Perfect.

I have the TH900 and an Apex Pinnacle and the sound is over the top great, especially with Hi Rez/SACD.

I was just listening to a Peter Paul and Mary SACD and the bass is just a thing of beauty, so natural and extended, not overdone but real sounding like I was in a real life thunderstorm.

The vocals and mids in general are silky and just plain glorious. I would not change a thing about the sound.

The same goes for an Alice Cooper SACD I picked up (Billion Dollar Babies -- a great album imho by the way) and again, the vocals and impact are just something I lean into and feel a sense of wonder,

as good as I ever heard Alice.

Mine just use the stock cable.

I think any fans of the TH900 should think about the Pinnacle, and if that's too expensive, I would try Pete Millet's Teton (which I've never heard, but I have heard is very similar-sounding).

New user of TH900 here biggrin.gif. Using Centrance M8 to drive it and pretty much happy with this combination biggrin.gif.

The rubber covering / wrap where the cables enter into the headphones have come out on mine, on their own. Is anyone facing the same issue ?

I didn't consider the WA7 as I already have 2 very good dac's & didn't want to pay for a dac section that I will never use. What is the difference in the new edition over the old one ?

I can think of two: more inputs and improved power supply. Its on the homepage of the Head fi website

Not on my TH900 but had it on one of my Denons. Not much you can do without opening her up.

Looking for a portable gear for Th900, either a portable amp or a portable source

Currently thinking Hifiman hm901 with balanced amp card, any idea if it would work out fine with th900?
