yep detailed and not warm. haven't heard the d7000 but folks used to say it was lush. the th900 ain't lush either imo.

Still to early to tell but from what I read I was expected a warm signature. I cannot say they are warm, and considering I am not a bass head in anyway I just can't say they are warm.

Amazon Japan has these for only ~$1220.

Cheapest place to buy them by far...and at that price they are actually competitively priced.

Maybe i don't have an amp good enough for it but out of colorfly c4 i am still craving for something else.

I personally would not use these with anything other than a Fostex HP-A8

Hp-a8 prices are heavily marked up where i live and importing from state not going to help me either due to taxes.

I'm gonna be honest that the HP-A8 & TH-900 didn't really thrill me that much. I had the HP-A8 for quite a few months before moving on. I think the amp portion of the HP-A8 was the weakest point of the whole DAC/Amp. Using it as a DAC to feed into the WA7 was more satisfactory than straight headphone out of the HP-A8.

Although I didn't spend much time with the HP-A4, it kinda grabbed my attention more than with the HP-A8. If you have an opportunity, maybe compare side-by-side or look at 3rd party alternatives.

I've settled with the Invicta-> customised ZD(SE variant) for my TH-900's.

Thank you but your dac and amp cost somewhere around 7k, i dint think i will ever be ready to spend that much.

i will search for the cheaper alternative. Maybe the senhisser dac/amp?

Sennheiser HDVD800 cost more than Fostex HP-A8.

Those that have tried the HDVD800 agreed that the in-built DAC doesn't do justice to the amp, while HP-A8 has the other way round

Taonally IMHO @audionewbi, I'd you get a chance to demo the WA7 with EH tubes, it's great value for $$$. I think personally I'd be happier with that than the HP-A8 given a budget.

^ agree with @AnakChan

Even though I don't own the TH900 (only have the TH600), the WA7 is great value for $$$ being an amp/DAC combo

I got my HP-A8 for $700

for that price, I don't think it can really be beat as an all in one solution.

Vintage speaker amps drive the TH900 quite nicely. Inexpensive too.
