In terms of math/science/logic, the Bakoon and the Fostex shouldn't add up (U + U sound sigs), but they somehow do.

Wish I could afford one. Also wish I could get my hands on a Stratus or GS-X for an audition. =[

I know the feeling. In my part of the woods, the Beats rules !!! The names of amps and HPs that we are accustomed to here are simply non-existent. I am looking for detailed reviews and impressions on Head-fi to decide on any purchases. I am currently deciding between the GS-X mk2, the Bakoon and the Taurus.

NZ, thanks. I realize that its been a bit of apples to oranges comparison on my part. Its just that I had not listened to the 900 for 2 weeks so it was a shock to me. As an aside, when I get the LCD-XC I should have a more interesting and pertinent A/B exercise.

Oh gosh, yeah I forgot about the XC you have on the way. Gaaah! To say that I am a little bit jealous is an understatement. I am VERY jealous, but at the same time happy for you.

I get that "What the heck is happening to these headphones" reaction a lot when I switch from one phone to another. Then I remember that I need to let myself re-acclimated to the signature. I'm on an extended HE500 run right now. Have them on Bifrost>PanAm. Doing a bit of cross listening. I know than when I switch to the TH900, I will go through that adjustment period again - which really on hindsight is a plus - kinda like rediscovering a vintage brew after not having it for a while.

interested to read at another forum that the op offloaded the th900. said the flaws began to grate after a while with the slightly sucked out mids not filling out enough btw the edgy highs and bottom end. hasn't put me off wanting to try them tho. just saying that's all.

Just how jealous??

I've not given the XC too much time but will do more so tonight but so far all I can say is that TH-900 owners will continue loving the TH-900, and Audeze owners will continue to love the Audezes. I can't say too much beyond that for now. These are loaners.

How might they compare in terms of imaging and soundstage and air?

To each his own. People blaming the gear due to differing tastes are people who are obviously not yet experienced in this hobby and/or do not understand it. Their opinions are worth less than nothing to me, borderline pathetic.

Opinions and impressions change with time and experience. Nature of the beast.

*Groan*

Is it weird that I get as much enjoyment admiring the cans sometimes as I do listening?

I think the XC is just damn pretty, close to the Fostex really. There's other wood cans that people think are nice looking, but I really can't agree due to designs that I find unappealing from an aesthetic point of view (looking at you Audio Technica and your wing pads).

You should have a look at some of the Lawton modded Denons. The woodwork is exquisite. Just go to his website and check out the gallery images.

I was strongly considering getting a fully skunkworked D7000 from Lawton - angle pads, driver repositioning/adjustment, tonewood cups, cables, connectors, plugs - the whole works. That was before finding out about the TH900's existence, though.

Anakchan and other lucky one....I Will be VERY interested to know How much the LCD-XC Isolate (LEAK) compared to the TH900

Indeed I have à TH900 but i can't use it in the bed . . . next to my wife sleeping :-)

So i was about to buy some IEM :-((( or a Sig PRO but this LCD-XC should of course provide a much better sound. . . If it do NOT leak !

thanks in advance
