Have anyone tested TH900 Pads on a D7000?
The TH900 is still quite new, so I doubt it.
This is just speculation, but since most of the modded and aftermarket pads I've seen for the D7000 are thicker than the stock ones, it seems like using the thinner TH900 pads would be "going against the grain" so to speak.

Here's a brief comparison I posted a while back in the Signature Pro thread:
"Isolation is definitely a big factor. The Signature Pro seals much more thoroughly, whereas the TH900 doesn't (similar to the Denon line). The TH900 will cost more than the Signature Pro, however it can be had for $1750 right now rather than $2000-$2300. Both feel robust, but the Signature Pro is a much more rugged design, and it's clearly meant to be used on the go if the need arises. The TH900 is a showpiece, with lacquered wood cups and a platinum coated jack that I would most certainly not use outside of the house.
In terms of sound, their signatures strike me as somewhat similar actually. They're both balanced with a bit of a bass emphasis and present but cooperative highs. The mids on the TH900 will generally be slightly more recessed than the Signature Pro's overall, however vocals on both have a clear and distinctly forward character to my ears. The TH900 seems slightly less aggressive and more relaxed and natural sounding, slightly more euphonic. The Signature Pro seems to emphasize details a bit more obviously than the TH900. Both seem easy to drive. Both are winners in my estimation. Which you choose should first and foremost be determined by your needs and how you want to use them."
Also from earlier in this thread:
"Actually, I was just thinking this morning that the TH900 and Signature Pro are somewhat similar. Almost like a cross between the Signature Pro and the D7000. If you're looking for somewhat that sounds very different from the Signature Pro, then the TH900 isn't going to be it IMO. Overall though I feel the TH900 has better imaging capabilities, a more convincing soundstage, and sounds more open. On the other hand, it's not really a 'true' closed headphone like the Signature Pro, doesn't isolate nearly as well, and isn't really portable."

Thanks for the comparisons. Much appreciated! :)
TTVJ sent out my TH900s today hopefully be receiving them middle of next week.
Hmm, if anyone is planning on recabling their TH900's, I don't mind buying it from you.
For the folks who are getting the TH900 in the coming days: please post your impressions in this thread or a link to them in this thread, and I'll edit the front page to list them in the order they're posted for future easy access.
Has anyone compared this to the LCD-2/3?

I mentioned some comparisons briefly in this thread several pages back.
The LCD-2 rev. 1 (don't own the rev. 2) is definitely warmer, more relaxed, and "richer" sounding to my ears---more colored---than the TH900. I feel the TH900 handily surpasses it in most areas. I'd say the same for the veiled LCD-3, though perhaps to a very slightly less extent. The unveiled LCD-3 and the TH900 on the other hand are pretty close to me, with the LCD-3 still being slightly more euphonic overall. As a result the LCD-3 sounds bit more lush compared to the TH900, but I personally find the TH900 more engaging and "alive" however. I also feel the LCD-3 surpasses the TH900 slightly when it comes to conveying weight and solidity, but that the TH900 has slightly better imaging capabilities. It's really a toss up though.
Comfort-wise the TH900 wins hands down in my opinion.
I was demo'ing a ALO Audio recabled LCD3 and Jude's TH900 pretty much side by side, I can't go into specifics because at the time I was just listening for enjoyment - not really thinking about soundstage and treble/bass/midrange. What I do recall is that the phones were my top two favorites at the LA meet, but because the TH900s are so much more comfortable they are the winner for me; sound wise though, they were both excellent (best phones I had heard to date).
