Briefly some listening notes out of the box, first 30 mins...................

- Fat bass, too much overhang

- Mids are good, very clean

- Vocals has very nice nuances and not recessed to me at all

- Some treble edginess

- Narrow soundstage, between ears

- Great depth

Just got my TH900 from Headroom today.  B-stock but looks good in every aspect.

Doing a/b test between D7K and TH900 now.  One thing stands out immediately.  The bass is more controlled than D7K, no more booming/reverberate.

Having a feeling that these two sound different enough to keep the D7K around.  The bass booming is good for movies and sound effects.

i agree, the  bass is obviously tighter and more controlled, listen a little longer and u'll hear slightly less grain and better transients/speed, they don't get as congested in the mids.

i personally can't justify having both, they sound very similar to me, with the TH-900 being a clear step up.

Most definitely....and confirmed with my Radioshack dBel meter.

I must that the TH900 are growing on me hour by hour............................Sonic presentation has opened up very nicely.

A mention is in order on how beautiful the TH900 are in real life, I never liked the look of them in pictures previously!

oooh u bought one?

tell me how it compares to your T1, i found the TH-900 and T1 to share many similarities, the TH-900 is basically a bassy closed version of the T1.

I saw one on eBay with the 'Make Offer' option. I made an offer that I never thought would be accepted but it was.

I hope it's nothing like T1 :-)

Every time I google and look at the TH900's cups, my hunger to buy them grows...

Dub, do you ever take them outside?

It's okay. Nowhere near as good as LCD-2. I use it primarily for movies rather than music, which is silly considering the cost.

I've been reluctant to sell it because the moment I do a WA2 will pop up on eBay for a good price.

Sorry to jump in - I took my th900 outside once for 30 minute walk - honestly not worth it they don't isolate enough I think some beats wearers gave me startling looks too!!

Fantastic as a home music h/p - pretty good with movies too.

My ed 8 actual I found are pretty good outside in comparison to th900,
I would say iems would be my first choice for outside use these days.
