Wow, it's  clearly missing from my Google Chrome, haha. No matter which section I am on the site, even after a restart of the browser, dang.

Thanks for showing me, hehe

If you have Adblock or Adblock Plus installed on Google Chrome, it might be the reason why the ads aren't showing up. Try using other browsers, or disabling Adblock.

A word of advice: I'd e-mail Moon Audio first before buying the TH900. Firstly because "in stock" may just mean they have it available for pre-order. That was the case with the Signature Pro, which was listed as in stock before it was even released. Also I seem to recall reading somewhere that Drew said the $200 off coupon does NOT apply to the TH900. I may be mistaken though, so it's certainly a good idea to ask!

I got tired of having to maintain it, especially since it's been fluctuating a lot recently with new acquisitions and selling parts of my collection. I'll probably put it back up when it stabilizes a bit.

The lyrics I have up now are from Toro y Moi's "Low Shoulder" from their Causes of This album.

It could be that  sales notices - with discount codes - are given out in Drews'

email newsletters.

Suggestion:

Write him.

The email address has got to be on the site.

Ask if he would consider giving you a discount code for the TH900.

My guess is that since the TH900 is so new,, they may still be on

promotional sale.

If not:, ask when the next sale period covering these phones is likely.

Now I can't see the coupon in my browser anymore as well, and I have no adblock or anything like it.

And yes, send a mail to Drew, he's a nice guy to deal with, I bought gear from him a couple of times already.

But the code was "NewCans2012" (without the quotes...)

Unless he received a batch lately I doubt they are in stock because he borrowed Jude's review pair for the NC show.

MuppetFace, thanks for you Audeze/Fostex comments. If I interpret you correctly, the differences are more Coke vs. Pepsi, rather than Cinzano vs. Glenlivet. So if I want something really different from the Audezes (which I have), I'd be better advised to go for Senn 800s or even (deep breath) Stax 009s. And thanks for sharing your experiences with Price Japan.

If you image a continuum with the SR-009 in the center (as the closest example to a truly "neutral" headphone in my opinion), with a euphony emphasis on the left and an analytics emphasis on the right** side, then the LCD-2 rev. 1 would be further away on the left side and the LCD-3 would be closer to the center but still a bit on the left side. The TH900 would be just a smidgen closer to the center but still pretty much in the same area as the LCD-3 more or less. The HD800 on the other hand would be on the right side, so if you're looking for something really different from the LCD-3, then the HD800 is the most so out of all of those you mentioned.

**I posit euphony and analytic sound signatures as generalized binary opposites for the convenience of illustration, but whether they're really opposites isn't so clear to me, and it very much depends on one's definition of the two. For instance I don't consider euphony to be synonymous with "musical," and I think analytic headphones can in fact be musical.

Very good visualization cues for their respective signatures...
