It made me smile when i spoke to the Australian distributor for Fostex.  The guy was saying how shocked he was at the number of TH900's they had sold.   He had his doubts that people would jump for such expensive cans... Though he was obviously a big fan of their sound.

For anyone looking to buy one, there's a b-stock TH900 on HeadRoom right now at $1729.

I bought the TH900 yesterday i was told it was the last pair
Sound Devices

I had to negotiate the price as I was told $1750 initially
Wicked digital in Australia also have them for $1595

I'm sure addicted to audio in Australia would come close on price

$1500 is getting to the "must buy" area for folks, they're worth every cent of that.

No idea about shipping to us - sound devices I think are closed weekends - worth sending an email

Wow, yeah. In my opinion nothing comes close at that price range.

+1

Are they on limited production ?  Otherwise the price might drop further.

^ I don't think so, the TH900 is a mass production model. I just hope Fostex doesn't go full derp mode and decides to discontinue them when they release the TH600.

Who knows th600 turns out to have the same driver / similar sq without the fancy urushi and silver platinum coating. Even more People might still jump and buy. But I highly doubt so..

Again, I'm sure It is in fostex' best interest to keep their flagship special in every way. Aesthetics, and sound.
