For PriceJapan you pay up front always. But it's that way with AudioCubes and every other importer I know. I think if there was a problem with the price quote, Kaneda would change it pretty quickly. Since their systems is to basically look at a bunch of different quotes and select the cheapest, if there was an issue with that quote, it would probably default to the next lowest, and so on and so forth. Kaneda generally works very quickly if he can correct a problem. I'm thinking it's an issue somewhere higher up the supply chain, since AudioCubes doesn't have any either yet.

I bought these this week from amazon.co.uk for £10 including delivery. That's US $15. Packaging, appearance, warranty, euro-nanny knows best: Mine arrived in the small European packaging box,...

The D2000 and D5000 are 106dB/mW and the D7000 is 108. The TH900 is supposed to have an extra strong magnet too right? The cone must be a lot stiffer if the voice coil is the same, the magnet is stronger, and the sensitivity is lower.

He has a 10% off sale but that doesn't even approach EE prices - unless I'm mistaken?
Yeah $765 for a D7000 isn't what I'd call a bargain.

No idea what the price was, I just saw it in my mail.
Prices always seemed to be all over the place for D7000s indeed as far as I can remmber.
I don't need it since I have 2 of them already.

Try paying $1300AUD over here in Australia for a genuine delivered model - the service centre only services genuine
Aussie bought models (via the serial numbetr) so whilst the price is insane - you'd have to be crackers to take a chance
on an import unless you got it for next to nothing.
Eh. Yamas likely won't touch my JDM Omega 2 if it breaks. Doesn't bother me. How much is a one year warranty really worth?

It's a worthy consideration - not sure if the 'quality control' jumps up with the D5000 and D7000 but I've seen the odd dead driver with the D2000.
You've also got to give them the benefit of the doubt - even if you're outside of warranty, they will at least service it for a fee.
Out here the Denon disty will simply not touch a non-genuine Denon. No pay options, no hefty service fees - you're on your own.

I honestly don't know what's going on with the TH900.
According to Kaneda at PriceJapan, they were released officially on the 16th, but for some unknown reason the stock they ordered isn't coming in for a while longer. Estimates are currently up to another month, which strikes me utterly ridiculous, especially given that they're apparently sitting on Japanese store shelves.
Again, the problem isn't so much PriceJapan as it is the supplier or whoever is handling the supplies for Fostex. Audiocubes is experiencing similar waiting times, and my guess is that most import sites aren't getting stock in for a while.

I am not sure if this sounds assuring for you, but here are the last two e-mails I received from Kaneda:

If I may, putting in my 2 yen worth of speculation here. There's no stock problem as far as I can see in the shops, in Tokyo. In fact I see 2 second hand ones already selling (1xYahoo Auction, another in e-earphones). I'm more inclined to think PriceJapan or AudioCubes or whoever they're getting their supplies from aren't able to secure it at the price initially advertised. I'm further inclined to think that they're not getting the stock from Fostex directly.
Edit: I'm not posting links but if you look at Kakaku or Rakuten, the cheapest I see there are still around Y145,000+ (USD$1757). Granted this is tax incl in Japan (5%). Kakaku and Rakuten are online brokers like Amazon. Stores upload and advertise their prices there.

Just want to make sure, Fostex is located in Japan right? I spoke with B&H yesterday and the rep told me that they receive the TH-900 directly from Fostex within US.
