Forgot to mention that the TH-900s are far more comfortable, but funny enough, I found the isolation about the same.

Good choice, I actually did the reverse.. got the TH900s to match my tube glow biggrin.gif..

I think my 6-day old prefers the TH-900's over the SR-009's....which is fine by me :-

Can't help myself quoting the picture again. Congrats manbeerchug.gif

This kid is luckier than 99% of the word and 95% of head-fier to have the luck to listen to two of the best headphone ever.

The look with the th 900 is like I can enjoy this luxury pillow while with the sr009 is like my new born ears can hear some detail that my dad can't even think of biggrin.gif

I guess I am looking for a different flavor, maybe a littl ebit warmer but without going all the way to closed headphones. One thing I notice since I got my HD800 adn HE-6 is that I am prefering the soundsatge presentation of open headphones over closed. To my taste the best closed headphone soundstage so far is from the W3000ANV. That's why I am keeping them.

When I listen to my D7000 and DX1000 I just sense them too close and to warm specially the D7000.

Any comments?

I can't stand the bulk and darkness of Audeze cans, but YMMV. I feel the TH900s are better in every way.

I want to echo Magickman on the darkness and was one of the reason I  sold the LCD-3, Initially I wasn't aware as all my other reference headphones are pretty "crappy" but when I A/B the sig pro I was so impress by the details of it surpassing LCD-3 (probaly because its brighter.. I am not sure). I can live with that since everything else on the sound spectrum was perfect for me but the discomfort of LCD-3 was pretty bad (maybe its my head probem.. I dunno). I went all out to solve this problem by getting the Bose cushion for the headband and it did solve some pressure point for a while and break apart the D2000 as the band was way more confortable (yes sacrifice a headphone for another headphonevery_evil_smiley.gif). I also change to vegan pads but none of this helps much really. I went on to get steve's cable hoping to lighten the weight but notice the phone was already heavy without any cable from the beginning LOL... . so I decided to switch to something that have more sparkle and bass as powerful as the LCD-3 and I found TH900. The RMA LCD-3 (unveil version) didn't really help much as I can't tell much differences fron the veil version (maybe mine was not cherry picked) While stuffing toliet paper was something I enjoy and reading that thread was fun (thanks to Purrin). But in the end, I guess it was also my unwillingness to invest on a very expensive amp to really make the LCD-3 shine, but I see that you don't have that problem.

+2

Dark, Heavy, Uncomfortable...

I really did want to like them too. The worst was the ear canal pressure from the leather ear pads seal. I did regret not trying the vegans but the above post makes me feel better about that now.

To each their own...

Guys, I'm considering the TH-900 or Audio Technica ATH-W3000ANV or Ultrasone SIgnature Pro. I'm leaning towards the TH-900, but the price jump is nearly in another league itself.

For anyone who owns any of the above, how do they compare in terms of sub bass quantity?
