I'm absolutely sure I'm not responsible for this scratch because it's been there since the beginning, but I can't think of a way to prove it... but if they would repair scratches that are covered under warranty, then maybe I can also get it fixed along with my swivel issue.

In -my- case, they fixed my swivel issue, fixed the broken cup (1st link above, my fault), and the scratch (2nd link, also my fault) all under warranty. However I have an advantage 'cos I know the Fostex chaps from all the Fujiya Festivals I've been going & I drove out to their service centre personally to drop off my TH900 and to chat with them. Normally, most manufacturers in Japan don't accept such drop-off repairs and encourage service repairs to be mediated by the retailer/reseller/distributor.

i.e. I don't know in your case if the scratch will be covered under warranty but the swivel most definitely is.

I've received and spent some time with the TH900 now. For the first time, I'm not left wanting anything in the sound. I am elated. It's been a long time since I've been floored by headphones. They make me regret going to live shows and getting too close and damaging my ears. 

Compared to the Signature Pro in A/B, they sound 3-D and organic sounding. Sure, the mids are a tad more recessed but the naturalness blows the SP mids away. They sound so much more clean, and refined. Not to mention the soundstage and imaging are on a whole other level completely. They are more engaging, and make the SP sound flat by comparison. I wasn't expecting such a jump in quality. The bass is the best I've ever heard. So tight, so clean, so voluptuous. It's magic. The highs are so refined and extended. I am in heaven.

still thinking about just selling most of my collections to go with this but can not quite decide

ooops double post.

Snapple10, really impressive collection you have there, alot of heavy hitters for sure.  If I was in your situation and was deciding what to unload I would lean towards dropping the ED 10, PS-500, 650, and last but not least the D-7000.  Due to my loyalty towards the Sig Pro I say keep it for now.

(Im biased lol...too much TH-900 lovin going on)

I felt very similarly in regards to the Signature Pro and the TH900, its a definite audio upgrade most noticeably in the soundstage / imaging and 'naturalness' of music and movies.. congrats on the new phones - hopefully it will cure your upgrade'itis for a while
