I don't know of any.  Have you tried contacting Fostex directly?

They're not sold on the retail market. I think you're supposed to purchase them at your local distributor. In your case, that's Paxt (info@paxt.ae).

I'm really surprised Shad that Fostex is taking a while to get back to you.

Best advice I can give now is to reach out to them again expressing your concerns.

I was able to find the contacts name that I dealt with ....email him directly, forgot his name  フォステクスサービス <fostex2@otoiawase.jp

Email him directly ASAP.

I agree with what everyone else is stating that Fostex should have remedied the hinge / screw issue long ago.

Let us know how you make out.

Well right now my Fostex is sitting in pieces on my kitchen table, with the left screw broke. I don't know how long the warranty is but I've had them a couple years, so, the warranty is probably expired. Plus they are modded so I don't want to send them back to Fostex. So...I was thinking, why can't I just replace the screw myself with a more robust design? I have a couple ideas.

I could replace the existing tiny screw with a 1" shoulder screw that goes all the way through the headband. I can install a spacer in the headband that holds the shoulder screw. I can install bearings on the top and the bottom of the spacer/headband so that the cups turn freely. The tricky part will be getting the shoulder screw tight in the spacer, and shimming the screw so there is no vertical movement.

It may be easier to drill out the existing posts to get them to accept the shoulder screws, but without a drill press I am risking wallowing out the hole so the screw is no longer tight. However I have access to a machine shop that can do this for me. If necessary they can fabricate all the parts I need.

So does anybody think this will work, or have a better idea maybe?

Interesting concept.  Might work.

But in all honesty I wouldn't mess with it too much.

Order yourself some screws and be done with it (at least for now)  http://www.fullcompass.com/prod/271364-Fostex-8204552288

A synergy that is truly meant to be. I think the Deckard's slight warmth is a perfect compliment, and the low noise floor allows the separation of instruments and soundstage of the TH900's to really shine through. Add to that a bit of tightness around the Fostex's already punchy bass, and you have a killer combo.

I have this combo waiting in their shipment box for me at home while I am away for work. I got the Deckard just based on your impressions after getting the TH900 off a member here. Very anxious to see how this combo is like tonight!
