Replacement pads for the DT990?

I know that you can buy the exact replacements for the DT990 but I'm a cheapskate. Is there any difference between the stock pads and the ones for the DT250 that a lot of people have been using for the Htf-600?

The DT250 pads are far more squared than the perfectly round 990 pads.

The DT250 pads are a different shape than the DT990's cups and probably won't fit.

Instead, you can buy same Chinese-made fakes on eBay, they are not half bad, I've used them myself.
