Review: SPL Auditor - Page 5

The only comparison I can do with the T1 is between the Auditor and Violectric V200 and it definitely sounds best with the Auditor. Hope you find the upgrade worthwhile!

I agree the T1 and auditor is a great combo.

At Home .

Currently Avaliable:  a Pioneer DVD player , RCA > XLR cable . NFB-2 DAC is gone :( . , and T1

Well nothing new to know .

Auditor is just pure sound , no more no less . Very Transparent sounding , extremely detailled , neutral , though it's not very different sounding than my previous C2.1 , wich was also on the neutral side , though still a tad warmer , auditor is a bit more neutral , and more refined than C2.1 , clarity/transparency details are improved , positioning and imaging are great , but i note that some things in the mix are a bit more forward on Auditor than in C2.1 , i like it ^^ .

It's right T1 like powerfull amps tongue.gif its an impression but it seams to me That with Auditor T1 have more "breath" , with Auditor it's like i  unleashed the T1 smile.gif.

I was looking for an upgrade for my C2.1 , in mind : neutral , very detailled / transparent amp , wich don't add or substract anything to music , and Auditor is that , i am only listened 45 min from my auditor and still listening as i am writing this . But i am not disapointed at all , Auditor is a keeper .

Also oredered an NFB-17 Balanced DAC , i am not exepting too much from balanced mode , but i needed a new DAC ^^ . Peraphs should have kept the NFB-2 , bah will see .

In any case Auditor + T1 => awesome combo .

Greta to hear that guys. The Auditor is under appreciated it seems and it's p there with some top tier amps IMO.

Is anyone able to compare the Auditor with the GS-1?

+1. Waiting for this comparison.

The Auditor sounds exactly like i want but it has too high output impedance and not perfect for low-impedance cans, and I cannot find something neutral YET NATURAL with tight granitic bass.

Well , Audio GD  NFB-17.2 at home , i don't know if it's the dac , the balanced mode or to be without proper source for some days or what ever , but i am now even more asthonised with auditor .

It's like rediscovering tracks hearing things that never heard before , subtle things that seams apparent now , peraphs i didn't pay attention before now i get it . Electric guitare is just awesome nicely bodied well defined , never heard Harpsichord that sounded soo realiscly like with auditor . ATM i can't hear anything negative from this amp with T1 , peraphs with some low impedance cans it's not soo well , but Auditor is disigned for High impedance cans , peraphs will try my K272HD on it later (borrowed by a friend ^^) , T1 is my main Can soo for me Auditor is just perfect .

Can switch from classical to black metal T1 and Auditor seams always sounding the right way for me .

As mentioned , it's a bit sad that Auditor seams under appreciated here .

I am now trully convinced that Auditor and T1 are one of the best combos avaliable on the market imo . smile.gif

I agree that the Auditor and T1 combo makes electric guitars sound fantastic. For me they're kind of the ultimate combo for rock and metal. The HD 800 create a larger sound space where the layers of the music are more clearly separated from each other, but the T1 just do wonders with electric guitars and add just enough excitement to the music that I don't mind as much when the music is loudly mixed with 0 dynamic range.

TheManko, what do you think of the T1 with the V200? I own both amps and the T1 performs very nicely on both, more so on the Auditor. I use the T1 with the V200 when a recording is mastered too hot and I need the treble cut down a bit and when more warmth needs to be added.

The Auditor and T11 is the best match for metal also IMO. The Auditor has very fast transients and has the best control over the T1's driver. The T1, when powered properly, has the best transient response IMO and has really explosive dynamics. Think Grado's are fast? Humph, you've never heard the T1. I will say the HD800 is the faster headphone, but not by much.

I'm deciding on my amp upgrade from the Yulong D100(which will become my DAC, for the time being). Right now, the V200 is in the lead as I know it is a good pairing with my primary headphones(LCD-2 rev1) and my secondary ED8s. I'm also seriously considering the new Yulong A18. When I read through this thread I had to add the Auditor into consideration. My question is, does anyone own the LCD-2 and an Auditor? If so, do you think they pair well? If anyone also owns an Edition 8 that would be great to hear about as well. Sometimes, because of the weight difference I go with the Ed8s for longer sessions, even though they have different sound sigs. Both are my cup of tea:)

I don't think it would be a good pairing at all. The Auditor puts out mostly voltage and not enough current, so you would be starving the cans a tad. I've not heard the LCD-2 on the Auditor in a while but from memory the performance was not that well. The K702 performed better than expected on the Auditor but still was a crap pairing.

The V200 is the way to go IMO. It has all the current you could ever want!

Thanks, I had a feeling this would be the case, but needed to confirm

Another benefit of the V200 is that it suits both low and high impedance by design from Violectric, which gives lots of bonuses to the amp.

Auditor works very well with HE-4 and HE-500. I don't notice any lack of power compared to a speaker amplifier. A musical DAC like Dacmagic combined with Auditor was one of my favourite combos.
