Hello everyone

A few weeks back i fell and smashed my phone+ mp3 player(rest in peace cowon J3 :/)

I bought a new phone(samsung sg2) which dosn't have the best dac ever, but with the app poweramp it gets quite good, the headset which goes with it is so so, and im looking for some new headphones to pair with this.

they need to be

- Very durable i tend to sleep with them in my ears some times, due to me living at a dorm not that far away from the dorm bar.

- very comfertable due to the above reason and aswell i just like when it's comfy.

- Not to analytic, i listen mostly to metal, but do enjoy listening to some sorts of pop and dubstep etc for the gym.

- Punchy bass! dosn't have to be massive bass, as long as it's punchy

- if possible it would be nice with a mic but it's not something i have to have.

I want to say Monster Turbine Gold's but they're a tad (as in $30) out of your budget... Perhaps Panasonic HJE900 or Radius HP-TWF11R? Regular Monster Turbines with ControlTalk are $170 and they complemet pop/dubstep.

At $180, I'd definitely recommend them. The bass is tight but not overpowered; think they complement the GSII

Sennheiser CX 980's? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-CX-980-High-Fidelity-Metal-Crafted/dp/B0035JKJ68/ref=sr_1_13?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1329175420&sr=1-13

There's Turbine Golds from Amazon.co.uk but I think 203 pounds is more than 25 USD

I had the regular Turbines and they were much more comfortable than my TF10s, but they didn't sound nearly as good. The golds are probably a descent step up from the regular ones, though.  I don't think you'd have a problem laying down with them, either.

He listens to metal, pop, and dubstep. I think the Turbines fit the bill better then TF10's. As for the Gold's, I've heard that they sound pretty different from the original Turbines - the bass is a bit more laid back and refined and they feel a lot more balanced (hence meeting his want for analytical sound). They have a really M2-esque sound.

Probably so, especially since comfort is one of his main priorities. He'd be hard pressed to find a solid fit with the TF10s that wouldn't fall out his ear when he's sleeping or running around.

There's no way I could sleep in my Golds.
