As for the TripleFi 10, the fit is uncomfortable and doesn't go particularly deep. Sure, it seals, and I've never had a problem with any IEM falling out, but the housing of the TripleFi 10 is so large as to make it hurt when you try to get it in your ear. I'm used to fitting most of the body of an earphone in my ears, and while I can do that somewhat with the TripleFi 10, I have to re-adjust it every half hour or so and take breaks. (I've done the flip mod with the cables and wear them looped over the ear.)


I liked the TF10, but returned them for the same reasons as you. Dear god they hurt! Also, in absolute terms (not counting money), they're not the best. My re-272s have been around ~6 months or so with a bunch of use both at home and walking around. I'd look into the hifiman warranty again, just to check, but they're pretty durable, at least in my opinion. Pretty f'kn amazing phones actually :D .

 

EDIT: Did an A/B of the RE-272s with the Um Miracles, and to my ears, there still is no comparison for the treble. I wish the Miracles would have the same upper end quality as the RE-272s. Dear god....so far, these are the phones that Zeppelin sounds best on...excluding the customs, the comparison's not even close.

i looked into the re272 and they are a little too far out of my pricerange, though i would get them if they went under 200

Well, a strong source/ amp would also be imperative to get good sound out of the re-272s. I'm not sure what your source is either, so the 272s are ruled out.

 

You may want to do some more research into the gr07s, which seem highly recommended for rock around here. I haven't listened to them personally, so someone here who has can guide you better.

thats good to know about the re-272s because if i do expand my price range a little then i know that i will be getting something that will last me. also i listen to a lot of led zepplin beerchug.gif

i think i have made up my mind. i will get the re-272 if the price goes down if not then i will probably get the gro7 or the mc/hf 5. thank you for all of the help
