AKG K702 Vs Beyerdynamic T1 in the studio. - Page 5

Well my wild guess would be, more bass for sure and since k550 pads have good depth it does not mean that will lose definition/depth but highs extension as well as imaging along with soundstage will go down, the question is to what extent.

Waiting for your impressions...

More tight bass for sure, because of the 550s pads material. The thick pads can add to the soundstage...but is all guesses until I'll make it work and this will take me some effort and time.

I was thinking, and it is just an idea, maybe it is less time consuming to buy akg k601 pads and take that plastic locking mechanism and put it under k550 pads.

Sorry for the little necro but ...

I just received a brand new K702 , the second K702 in my pocession sold the first one 8 months ago replaced by T1 . Well at that time i "only" had an Audio GD C2.1 as amp (not bad at all really) . And with C2.1 i found that T1 was a superior can to K702 .

When i had Auditor i was really impressed how auditor improved things with T1 , but i can say the same for K702 if not better now . I just put this K702 30 min ago , and it's not burned at all or anything and yet i can say that i am not missing my T1 at all ...  (well honey moon etc , but hey second time that i had this phone tongue.gif , but Auditor seams like a magical tool) .

I only can agree whit what Acix wrote about K702 ... (despite i always find Zombie_X very accurate in describing beyer product this time i have disagree about Auditor + K702) .

The SPL's hps amps Are the best magical tool for the Q/K-70X... and there is no downside on this combo, only the price of those amps which is a little bit more expensive, but for a top solid state amps in today crazy market I think the prices are okay as new, and especially a bargain for the used ones.

I have to admit here... about Bar prototype hps amp, this amazing amp was about 80% of the Phonitor with acoustic music, and about 85-90% with full body electronic music. In my point of view this amp is the second best SS amp after the Phonitor, and I'm sure most of the members here will even chose Bar amp over the Phonitor (and yes, cost effective as well ). Bar hps amp use the N5532 op-amps, and yet is way more balanced and natural compare the V100.

Bar, can I post your amp photo?
