Best portable amp for CLAS Solo

Hi all

 

Interested to hear from those who use the above portable DAC as to what the best portable amp is to pair it with and by comparison to the ALO RxmkII.

I did not compare, but you should add to the list ALO continental tube amp.

ALO Continental V2

 

Everything depends on what you want from your sound profile.

RSA SR-71B is a fantastic Combo with CLAS, if you want somehing more compact try Headstage Arrow 12HE 4G

Thanks all for the advice.

Over the course of the last few weeks my Unique Melody Miracles, Pico Slim and Clas Solo arrived and I have sat down tonight for the first time to listen to this rig and I am delighted with the quality of the sound being produced - it has far exceeded my expectations. In fact I think it is stunning. Very happy to have made the move to custom IEMs - perfect fit and so much more comfortable than my shures.

I own also UM Miracles. My portable rig is now HM601+ALO Continental V2 =fantastic combo. Very smooth and musical. Headphone out of my HM601 bit noisy with Customs,though line out is very clean. 

In the future I also want to own clas + ipod, iphone combo. Since, nothing can beat its UI. 

 

How would you describe the sound of CLAS ? Is it on brighter side or darker?

If I had to pick between darker and brighter I would say brighter but not sure this is the best way to describe it. It is still early days but one thing is for sure - it represents a huge improvement over the iPod classic. The level of detail being extracted is phenomenal.
