How much of an Amp/DAC's power is being used on idle?

I wasn't sure where to post this but I believe this is the right forum. The other forums are for purchase suggestions and this is the "smart" forum. L3000.gif

I am using a V200 and Rega DAC. For some reason last night, I forgot to shut them off when I left. Came home 2 hours after and went right to sleep. So it was on about 9 and a half hours on idle. PC was on sleep. Was on idle from 9 pm to 6:30 am.

So what affect does this have on my components? They were both warm but again no actual sound was coming out. Does idle wear out it's life at all? Should I not use them today so they can rest?

Very interested in knowing. Thanks! wink_face.gif

There should not be any problem, in fact there are some people who constantly leave their receivers turned on and they claim it last longer. If anything, at most you are wasting electricity that is all. The heat should not affect the caps at all.
