What comes first, the amp/dac or the headphones?

Don't know if this actually goes here, I tried to look around for the right place, sorry in advance if this is the wrong forum. 

 

My current setup, e7/e9, Ultrasone Pro900s/HD 598s. My question is, should I invest in a nice amp/dac instead of saving up for the LCD-2s? I know I'm probably going to get them, or ones in the same price range, in the near future. I understand I will need to upgrade my current amp/dac anyways if I get the LCD-2s. 

 

 

TL;DR  Should I first invest in a nice amp/dac before jumping to the LCD-2s, or something in that price range? Will I see a big enough difference in my current headphones to justify getting the amp/dac first?

I'll definitely get the LCD2s first, from there you can work out whether you should go tube or solid state and everything. 

While being far from perfect the E9 should be able to drive them decently well.

Could be worse with the e7/e9 combo as long as you don't mind your mids nice and forward - it's the whole essence

of the LCD-2 - right in your face. Very forward.
