**192kb to lossless??**

So I've got quite a few albums that are ripped at 192kb. Many I have not even listened to. While reading through the " songs that make your headphones go wow" thread, I went back and listened to some of them. I was just blown away by some of these. Damien Rice O in particular.

So my question is, with my denon d2000's would I be able to appreciate the difference in this awesome album in lossless vs 192?

Just curious...

thanks

Only your ears can tell you that. It's more about knowing what to listen for than how revealing your gear is. There's some tests in the Sound Science forum you can try. Don't read the threads or look at poll results until you test yourself, or use the ABX Comparator plugin for foobar2000 to avoid any unintended expectation bias.

Well, based on my own experience with my ripped music and cd's...128kb rips are awful. 160kb is subpar. Then there is a big difference b/w 160 and 192 for my ears on my headphones. I can also appreciate the difference between 192 and 256. Then it's gets a little tougher after this point for my aging ears.

There will be a small difference for my going to lossless on this album. But only small. I guess I've answered my own question...
