Hi everyone,

 

I am looking for some help and suggestions for full size headphones for my papa. He uses them for listening to the TV due to loss in eye sight recently.

 

He currently has Senniheiser Wireless ones that are 5-8years old and battery life is very short. Thus he thinks he would like to switch back to wired. He has had several Sony and Senniheisers over the past 10-20years.

 

The following criteria must be met

 

Budget - £100

Cable length - 3m minimum. (extension lead can be used, if possible can you advise on the best extension leads)

 

Extras options like volume control on headphone would be a bonus but not essential.

 

He can wears them for 4hrs at a time so must be comfortable.

 

Currently he has been looking at the following two headphones.

 

Senniheiser HD 558 - £100, might require a 6.3mm to 3.5mm adapter.

 

Sony MDR-ZX700 - £65, extension lead required, suggestions?

 

I would really appreciate any help and suggestion on better headphones as he really does uses these a lot and i feel that high street sony store may rip him off.

 

Infact i they are trying to sell the MDR-ZX700 for £100 where as on PLAY.com they are £62!!
