Need Help replacing pads on Sennheiser HD-518 same as 555 / 595 / 558 / 598

I removed the ear pads for my brand new Sennheiser HD-518 since they are user removable and replaceable.

I have previously done the same for my HD-590's, and they clicked back in, no problem.

This time, I cannot get them to click back in.

Does anyone know how to describe doing this correctly ?

I called Sennheiser Tech Support and the guy was friendly, but could not verbally help me.

I have also watched the Sennheiser youtube marketing video on the HD-518 and the guy clicks them in and out, no problem.

What am I missing ??

Thanks for any help.

Just press down hard enough and they should pop right in.  You need to use a bit of force...seems to be the only way they go back on.

Yeah, that's what works with the HD590s.

I am on the last day of my Amazon return window, so after an hour of attempting to do what works every time with the HD590s, I clicked return and put them neatly back in the original packaging that I carefully kept.

Unfortunately, the prices of headphones are much higher right now, so I will just have to be patient...

Thanks for your post, though !

PS   This just goes to show that refurbs can be fine - there are nothing wrong with the my HD518s once the service people get the pads back on, and my packaging is like new - so whoever pays the refurb price on these later will get a nice deal...
