Your opinion on Grado SR325is vs. RS1i?

Looking to add to my Grado collection. I currently own the RS1i and I love it. Is the SR325is a good?  I was thinking of SR80i, but the SR325is got me thinking.  Your thoughts?

You are not gaining anything going down.  I have gone from SR-80i to SR-125i, to SR325i, and finally to the RS-1i.  The RS-1i was the most sonically pleasing, but the wood earcups and discomfort were issues for me so I sold them.

I really suggest the new Sennheiser Amperior.  It really sounds great.  It is similar to a Grado in that it has a very up-front mid range and is on-ear, but the sound is so much better overall.

Perhaps give those a try if the budget allows.

Comfort is a love or hate thing for most people. But the sound is pretty much the best Grado sound you can get. If you ask me, the RS1i is worth it over the SR325i

rs1 is way better than the  sr325. i still keep my sr325 cause the sound signature is different though. its more open and airy sounding than the grado rs1 which is warmer and richer.

Is the 80i better buy than the 325 since I already own the RS1i?

no!!!

the sr80i is a huge step down from the rs1 and 325i. it would be a huge waste of money

Is the 325 better in the bass than the RS1i?  I wish I could hear it first.

I actually prefer the SR80i over the SR325is for many reasons. Though the SR325is is technically superior, the specific coloration of the SR80i pleases my ears, especially with drum resonation and acoustic guitar twang. The detail in these areas is astounding for a sub-$100 headphone, which is why I loved by SR80i to death. The SR325is also fits oddly on some ears, with uneven pressure from the undeniably Grado earcup design. I much prefer the SR325is in terms of value, and I believe that the SR325is would be too close in performance to the RS1 (while still being different) to seem much of a value to you.

In terms of value, fit, and (for some) coloration, go SR80i.

In terms of sole technical superiority, go SR325is.

If you already own the RS1i, there's NO reason to get the SR80i or SR325i, though they do offer different sound signature. But the RS1i is superior in every way. Save your money for something else, like an amp

You won't miss out on any detail with the 325i, but you're going to miss out on a much more natural presentation.

The RS1i is a good deal warmer with better soundstage and a more natural tambre. I've also found the RS1i to be better balanced with less treble emphasis, and with richer lower bass.

Thanks for the help guys.  I guess I would have to try for myself to see which I like.  I am seeking a slightly different Grado sound signature than the RS1i.

I own both and the RS1i are absolutely superior than 325is to me, I do think that RS1i have more details than sr325is (sr325is have high frequency emphasis which makes them sounds quite detailed, but it does not mean sr325is are really that detailed,  they just brighter) and better sound stage (slightly wider, much more deeper than 325is). And RS1i are more balanced and more comfort to listen to. I don't see any reason to own a pair of sr325is if you already got RS1i.

Depends what you listen to I think. I can only talk of the Alessandro versions of these phones... I had the MS pro and sold it, bought the MS2 and love it. (mainly listen to metal).
