For Sale:
FS: Fostex T50RP - Modified or Unmodified Version
Will Ship To: United States
I have 2 pair of Fostex headphones. My intent is to keep one pair, if the potential buyer were to choose one pair over the other.
Unmodified version: I just received this pair last Saturday morning from Amazon via overnight delivery. I paid $Keeping$ + $19.95 in shipping charges. I'm asking $Keeping$ for this pair. Features of this pair:
- Original box and instruction sheet
- Original cable with 1/4" silver TRS connector that connects to the left ear cup
Modified Version: I have a 3-week-old modified version also available, if the buyer would like to choose this option. The modifications consist of:
- Installation of Dynamat material on speaker baffle
- Installation of Plastix / non-hardening clay over the Dynamat and around the driver
- Installation of Plastix / non-hardening clay in the deep crevices of the cups
- Covered the insides of the cups with closed cell 1/4" thick foam
- Installed a ring of acoustic foam on the upper inside of the cups themselves
- Installed a 6 foot Canare black 4-conductor cable that feeds into both ear cups, not a single ear cup like the original
- The existing plug / socket for the original cable was covered up with a plastic plug to seal the cups and provide a more professional appearance
- Installed a 1/4" Neutrik gold-plated TRS connector
- Covered 2 of the 9 squares on the back of the drivers for a slightly lifted treble presence
- Opened / removed the square piece of felt on the outside (ear side) of the driver to allow better sound transition to the ear
- The original ear pads are in place and were not replaced
- Original box and instruction sheet are present
I am asking $SOLD$ for the modified pair. The sound is actually really good with these. The modifications followed were those that were basically described within the forums here. I did stop short on a few of the modifications - I did not install cotton balls into the ear cups, nor did I install any materials under the ear pads to bump them out. There are still a few other options the future owner could work with if they desired a slight improvement over where they currently are. However, I still think the sound is quite good and felt that I should stop right where I did and not over-do the modification process.
Shipping: I can ship either pair out on Monday February 13th via USPS Priority Mail Shipping. The shipping charges would amount to $15.00 and include $11.35 for a medium rate box, $.70 cents for delivery confirmation and approximately $3.00 for insurance on the package.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
